  • What is in vape juice?

A lot of people ask the question, "What is in vape juice?", and are curious about the ingredients in their juice. They want to understand more about these ingredients and their benefits and drawbacks. If you're curious, too, you'll find that this detailed guide gives you access to all of the factual information that you need.

Today, we're going to talk about all of the primary ingredients in e-juice and share facts about each and every ingredient. Once you've gotten the inside scoop on what is in vape juice, you'll be able to make a wise and informed decision about whether or not you should buy it.

We are here to empower you by presenting all of the facts that you need in one convenient place.

    The Most Common Ingredients

    Propylene Glycol (PG)

One common ingredient in e-juice formulations is Propylene Glycol. It's known as PG for short, and it's utilized as a carrier for other ingredients. You'll find Propylene Glycol in a range of foods, and it's also added to certain medications. Sometimes, PG gets a bad rap online, because it's one of the components of anti-freeze. However, it's not one of the harmful ingredients in anti-freeze.

Misconceptions about the dangers of PG are everywhere, and we'd like to dispel the myths by sharing information with you. Besides finding PG in food and medicine, you'll also find it in certain cosmetics.

Medical studies on animals have shown that they can inhale this chemical without significant side effects. As well, the Food & Drug Administration considers PG to be "generally recognized as safe."

    Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

Another common ingredient in e-juice is Vegetable Glycerin (VG). It's another base, or carrier, for flavoring and nicotine. VG comes from plant-based matter. You can find VG in foods, as an additive. Health Canada has deemed VG to be safe. It's already in usage in so many different products, from makeup to soap to cooked foods to toothpaste and beyond.

Vape juices which feature VG primarily tend to produce water vapor which is thicker, in comparison to PG-based e-juices, but which offers less "throat hit." This vapor may also have a sweeter taste. User preferences vary. Trying VG and PG-based formulas or formulas made from VG and PG (some vape juices do contain both) will be the best way to find out what's best for you.

In vape juices which combine PG and VG, it's important to understand Pg vs. Vg ratios. Standard ratios are fifty-fifty, sixty-forty and seventy-thirty. You may choose the ratio that you are comfortable with, and suits your vaping style.

    Water

You'll also find water in vape juice. Obviously, it's a safe and harmless ingredient.

    Flavor Additives

The pleasant taste of your juice comes from flavor additives. E-juices come in many amazing flavors, from traditional tobacco to sweet Cherry Cola and beyond. Typical flavorings for vape juices aren't usually subject to testing. Here at High Class Vape Company, we like to use "flavoring" that has FDA approval. This means that untested flavorings in vape juice do come with some safety question marks.

    Diketones

One particular form of flavoring, diacetyl. Diacetyl is found in many butter-flavored items and can carry risks if in high quantity.

Here is a great article if you want to learn more about diketones.

We should mention that diacetyl, which is a simple diketone (a molecule with a couple of ketone groups), is NOT found in vape juices. DIACETLYL is NOT FOUND in our juice. Our High Class Vape Co premium line is 100% diketone free. You don't need to worry about inhaling it because it simply isn't there. As well, you should know that the percentage of flavoring in e-juices is minuscule, in relation to its other ingredients. In general, a vape juice will contain one to two percent additive, whereas a typical tobacco cigarette will feature over eight percent flavoring.

Chemical flavoring is everywhere in our world.

When you're shopping around for vape juice, take a look at the product details. A list of ingredients is sometimes listed. Researching relevant flavoring chemicals online will be a great way to enjoy more peace of mind before you make a firm decision about which e-juice to buy. You will find that most carry no risks at all.

    Nicotine

Now, let's talk about the last common ingredient in vape juice, which is nicotine!

We should begin by letting you know that nicotine-free vape juices are out there. There are also e-juices with different levels of nicotine. So, you will be able to avoid this addictive stimulant if you want, too, or customize your order to get the precise level of nicotine that you want.

Typical nicotine levels which are available range from six milligrams, which is "very light" to thirty-six milligrams, which is super-strong. There is lots of advice about which nicotine level is right for which user available online.

Now, concerning the "risks" of nicotine, Scientific American published an article online which stipulated that many scientists believe a daily dose of nicotine is "benign" (not harmful), as long as the dose doesn't come from a lit cigarette.

To summarize, nicotine is not unsafe when used properly. Keeping ingestion moderate will help to reduce the possibility of minor side effects. If you overdo it with nicotine from any source, you may experience headaches, nausea or hiccups, along with other symptoms.
